Googling God

Been away for a long time now ... the flu caught up with me. I'm back now! So let's get the show on the road ;)

When we started out planning for the event 2-3 months back, we vaguely knew what we wanted out of it - it had to be fun, enthralling, entertaining at the same time enlightening, it should keep everyone alert and awake, we didn't want people to go away feeling 'That was a usual do!' . We wanted to have a very different idea that would click with all. The theme had to relate to the youth! But what could it be? We spent way too many days thinking, pondering, wondering, ideating, innovating and analysing this mystery. Since most of us work, we would catch up on GTalk to get the latest updates and exchange any new ideas. It was during one of these chatty sessions that we came up with Gtalk - God Talk! What a relief when all members unanimously voted for it!

It is true that most of us might have family prayers at home, many may not! We do all that is expected of us without really putting much thought into it! Our hearts and minds maybe elsewhere - is that how we are supposed to share our time with God? But then again, how do we think of Him? Is He the Father, the Son, the Holy Spirit? Is He only all those in the Trinity or can we share a closer bond with Him - like that of a friend or confidant? Can He be more to us than an awe-inspiring God? Can't we share all things openly with Him?

Many like me are still looking for Him, searching for Him in all the remotest places so that we can really experience what it is like to dwell in Him! I don't for a minute think of God as someone who should be feared, i don't have a clue if that is right ot wrong (maybe not since He expects children to come to HIm freely, a child i still am!) , i have always opened up my heart to Him when in trouble. There have been times when i have felt abandoned and lonely, when i have felt Him far away from me ... these are/were the times i probably should have called on Him more often.

Many others may already be blessed to have found Him in their lives! It must feel wonderful I'm sure.

Keeping all these complexities in mind we thought of our topics for our INTERACTORS (not really Speakers) ...

Googling God deals with searching for God! This forms the crux of our first session.

GTalk - God Talk takes us through conversing with God. How we can communicate with Him. That's our second session.

Having touched upon the basic idea, i think we can have an open forum here. I invite all of you to post the relation you share with God! Have you found Him? Where and How? Share what ever you want to ... it will be wonderful to know!

A Nostalgic August 15th!

We, at Dadar MGOCSM, have been running wild across Mumbai handing over our publicity material to various zones. Today happened to be the lucky day. We had a date to keep with our Main Session speaker, Fr. Dr. George Pulikotil, at Airoli @ 7:30 a.m. Considering we stay at the other end of Mumbai, we found ourselves stumbling out of bed as early as 5 to make it! Delays due to sleepy heads and hide-n-seek addresses we were able to wrap up a great conversation with Achen by 9. From here, we split into 2 groups - one headed to CBD Belapur (to hand over the publicity material to Vashi Zone) and the other for Powai where the Dadar Zonal Conference was to start @ 10 a.m. A third group was on it's way there.

Starved from all the empty stomach running around, a hearty breakfast at the venue was a great boost! Amazing songs to start with ... especially the theme song! Ashwin Achen took us through the main topic - a very enlightening interaction on the 5 personalities that dwell in each of us. An interesting group discussion revealed the secret of Blue Ocean Strategy! The Panel Discussion on Unnatural Sex was a bit dull - maybe certain aspects weren't too clear or it may have been an uncomfy topic to talk on for many!

But on the whole it was a great experience ... the food was great! Songs were amazing ... great beats! Organised and planned well, a lot goes into it .. we are getting first-hand experience in this! A lot of hard-work was put into the putting together of the event!

We hope to do justice to the Regional Conference and make it a blast for all! Do keep coming online for more details! And do feel free to get in touch with us for anything you may wanna know!
